What does the rose with the arrow mean?
The rose has been the flower of the democratic labor movement since textile strikers in Lawrence, Massachusetts marched for "bread and roses" in 1912; parties and unions across the world still carry it. DRESS draws the rose with its stem running left, into an arrow. If you know, you know. If you don't, it's a good flower on a good shirt.
Is DRESS clothing union-made?
The decoration is: every DRESS garment is printed or embroidered in the United States by union shops, and the shop and local are named on the Who Made This page. The blank garments themselves vary, and each product page says exactly what its blank is. When a blank is union-made we say so; when it isn't, we don't pretend otherwise.
How long does shipping take?
Every piece is made to order: printing takes 3 to 5 business days, then US transit takes 2 to 5 business days, tracked. Orders over $75.00 ship free; below that, shipping is a flat $5.95. We currently ship within the United States only.
What is the return policy?
Unworn, unwashed items can be returned by mail free within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Write to support@dressleft.com with your order reference and we send the label. Made-to-order is our production method, never a returns loophole.
How do the sizes run?
Tees and the hoodie are cut boxy and true to size: your usual size gives the intended relaxed fit, one size down gives a closer one. Exact garment measurements for every size are on the size guide page. The cap and tote are one size.
Why is everything made to order?
Printing a garment after it sells means no warehouse of unsold stock and no end-of-season landfill run, which is how most of the apparel industry hides its waste. The trade is a few days of production time, and we state that time honestly on every product page.
Is DRESS affiliated with a political party?
No. DRESS is an independent clothing label with a worldview: pro-worker, pro-democracy, pro-weekend. We sell clothes, not memberships, and no part of checkout donates to anyone.
How do I wash a garment-dyed heavyweight tee?
Cold water, inside out, with like colors, then hang dry. Garment-dyed cotton fades a shade over the first few washes by design; that's the look wearing in, not wearing out. A hot dryer is the one thing that genuinely shrinks it.
