The supply chain
Who made this
"Ethically made" is a hangtag adjective. This page is the actual answer, kept current, with the parts we're still finalizing marked as exactly that.
The decoration
Drop 001 ships union-decorated. We're in final selection between American union print shops right now, and the winning shop and its local get named here, by name, the day the contract is signed. We would rather show you a blank space than a claim we can't yet back.
Union printing costs more than the alternative. That cost is in the price of the garment, on purpose, and it's the whole reason the rose on the chest means anything.
The blanks
A printed garment starts as a blank, and blanks have supply chains too. We choose ours for fabric weight and construction first, and we say plainly what each one is:
| Product | Blank | Fabric |
|---|---|---|
| The Logo Tee | Final sampling in progress | 6.1 oz heavyweight 100% cotton jersey |
| The Direction Tee | Final sampling in progress | 6.1 oz heavyweight 100% cotton jersey |
| The Rose Hoodie | Final sampling in progress | 8.5 oz cotton-rich brushed-back fleece |
| The Rose Cap | Final sampling in progress | Cotton twill, unstructured six-panel |
| The Everyday Tote | Final sampling in progress | 12 oz natural cotton duck canvas |
When a blank is union-made in the USA (some are; Bayside's tees, for example, carry a genuine union label), the product page says so. When a blank is well-made but not union-made, the product page says that instead. The distinction matters, and blurring it would cost us the only thing this page is for.
Made to order
Nothing is printed until someone orders it. That's why shipping takes a few days longer than a warehouse brand, and why there's no pallet of unsold DROP 001 headed for a shredder in January. The apparel industry destroys billions of dollars of unsold stock a year; the simplest way not to participate is not to make the pile.
What we will not claim
You will never read "union-made" here when only the printing is union. You will never see a sustainability percentage we can't source, a fake countdown, or a review count we invented. If a claim on this site ever gets ahead of the facts, write to support@dressleft.com and we will correct it publicly.
